The three most important events that have had the greatest impact on making SOUTH CENTRAL, LA what it is today are Watts Riots, LA Riots, and GANG HISTORY !

One thing that i like about SOUTH CENTRAL today is none of the things happen that use to like rioting, looting, etc. South Central can become a place were peace is brought upon people and less violence. The area i live in is a nice place and area and i really enjoy the school i attend.

The first event that has made SOUTH CENTRAL what it is today is the WATTS RIOTS. The Watts riots was one of the important events that took place in WATTS. The WATTS riot is important because it had an big impact on many peoples lives and the area around them. I chose this topic because i felt this event is very important and is a piece of history.

The second event that made SOUTH CENTRAL what is today is the LA riots. The LA riot is important because it was an hectic time that was happening in SOUTH CENTRAL,LA. The riots started on Florence and Normandie. Many people partcipated in this event flocking, looting, and etc. In the end of riots there where so much money to pay in damges and many people lost there lives. The LA riots also was started because of the beating of RODNEY KING and the murder of 15year old NATASHA HARLINS. people start rioting because fair JUSTICE was not served.I chose this event because it was based upon JUSTICE and FAIRNESS.

The third event that has made SOUTH CENTRAL what it is today is ” GANG HISTORY”.  Gangs were around for hundreds of years. There black and latino clicks that were formed into a gang and there was also the BLACK PANTHERS and the BROWN BERETS. Long years after that the ” CRIPS” was founded by a man name TOOKIE WILLIAMS. I chise this topic because gangs was not how they were back then.

SOUTH CENTRAL in the future will be different because they are trying to make a change so south central will not be the way that it was years ago.

1. The broken window theory is  when the community is in a bad state of enviroment and is seen uncared for.

2.Its called the broken window theory because that is how many things are seen in the commuity.

3.The car experiment is a test that is given randomly to people to see how they will react to see an abandon car that have things in it. The result is many things do get tooken out of the cars.

4.The main example of the broken window theory that we seen on our walk was uncared for businesses.

5.Yes , there are many places in my neighborhood where it seems like no one care. Yes , there are many broken down , abandoned , and neglected places. Yes it does lead to crimes because the vandomlism on places and houses will be crossed out by other gangs in there territory. I think south central will be better with less crimes and gangs because more people will feel safe.
